The park has a long history. The area was home to Native Americans and served as the largest cattle ranch in Florida for many years. These actors portray Confederate, Union, and U.S. Sanitary Commission soldiers and civilians from the Civil War era. There are also historical exhibits and authors who speak about the battle. The public is invited to attend these presentations throughout the weekend.

For military history enthusiasts, Olustee Battlefield State Park is a must-see attraction. A reenactment of the battle occurs here every February.

Legacy Park Multipurpose Center

This 40,000 square foot facility will be a unique facility for the community. It will host many community events, and has four full size basketball/volleyball courts, including a championship court. The facility will also have a fitness center and a large community kitchen.

Upon completion, the Legacy Park Multipurpose Center will provide valuable meeting space for local community organizations and nonprofit organizations. The facility is part of the first phase of the City’s Legacy Park Master Plan. The facility will be open for public use by June 14th. There are several goals and objectives for the multipurpose center, and CHW is providing land planning services for the project.

Legacy Park Multipurpose Center will be the only facility of its kind in North Central Florida. It is expected to cost between $19.7 million and $20 million to complete. It is located next to the Hal Brady Recreational Sports Complex, which is home to numerous regional and state competitions.
